This beautiful, nautical-themed pen is offered with in a variety of hardwood bodies and either antique brass or antique pewter hardware.

The hardware for this pen has a great deal of detail including an anchor, the ship's wheel, a tall boat, a compass, and plenty of nautical rope. It would make a great gift for anyone into the sailing/coastal lifestyle.

Following my own experience, I have finished the pen body to a 1/2 inch diameter to ensure an easy fit into standard pen slots commonly found in utility-style clothing.
The finish is a mixture of walnut oil, shellac, and micro-aggregated wax, giving a durable, water-resistant finish with a natural, satin sheen.

ABOUT BURL WOOD: Burl is a tree growth in which the grain has grown in a deformed manner due to a tree undergoing some form of stress. The result is an incredible variety of texture in the grain that produces stunning results, even more so when the wood is color-dyed. Almost all of the burl that I am able to source is either big leaf maple or buckeye from the Western United States.
